Achieving a balanced life in a world that can sometimes feel like too much to handle might seem like an impossible task. This is especially difficult in our modern world where we have to find a balance between the demands of work, study and home.

Fitness Embassy® is here to let you know you are not alone in this struggle and to help you with the balancing act!  It is important for everyone to have time to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals! To achieve growth towards fulfilment of their spiritual, emotional and physical needs, to bring meaning to their life and achievement of one's full potential.

Here are some tips to assist you to achieve balance in your life:

Communication

Make sure those closest to you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. Let your family and friends know the timing involved in your study including the periods of time you are likely to be under the most amount of stress. Communication is key to keeping your home life a happy environment.

Planning & Time Management

Start by making a list of what needs to be done to keep life running smoothly. Then work out who is usually responsible for each item. See if there are any opportunities to allocate any of your tasks to another family member or friends. For example dropping off and picking up the kids from school could be alternated with other families you know from the school, to in turn provide regular study time in the morning or afternoon a couple of times a week. It is all about thinking outside of the box of your usual routine.  It is also helpful to sit down on a Sunday afternoon and plan your week ahead. Whether it is by using a personal planner system or mobile device, it is a great idea to know what is coming up and to even have the whole family involved in planning the week ahead, so there are no unexpected surprises.

Rewards

Fitting study into your already hectic routine requires a lot of work and effort to achieve your study goal so why not include a reward system to provide motivation to complete your study faster! For example on completion of a unit of study you could buy that pair of shoes you have had your eye on and maybe a complete new outfit once your studies are completed!

In summary what we can learn from this article is:

  • Communication is key to keeping everyone happy - Planning particularly outside your usual routine is critical to making sure you have the time you need to study
  • Time management is important to have and keep everyone on the same page - Rewards are the best motivation to keep study momentum.
